"I Always Knew I'D Eventually Have My Room Back

"I always knew I'd eventually have my room back. But I had hoped for a slower, more extended transition to the way things used to be before Oliver." How can you move on from such an experience? When you prayed with every belief in you for time to stop, for those moments together to linger forever? How can you go on when everything about the city you live, the house, your bedroom, remind you of the thing you have to let go to continue living soundly? When the ghost of your lover is everywhere, what to do? This scene reminds me of a Freddy Mercury song, called "How Can I Go On". The song goes: -
"How can I go on
From day to day
Who can make me strong in every way
Where can I be safe
Where can I belong
In this great, big world of sadness
How can I forget
Those beautiful dreams that we shared
They're lost and they're no where to be found
How can I go on?" I think this says it all about how Elio is feeling in this scene. 💔
