Anna Faris Said Navigating Power Couple Fame With Chris Pratt Was "Tricky" Just Weeks Before Split
While Anna Faris's and Chris Pratt's separation announcement shook the internet yesterday night, Faris had perhaps hinted at relationship trouble to People just weeks their split.
"I don't think that's something, when you're an actor, that you're prepared for," Faris told the magazine in late July about navigating power couple fame with Pratt. "There are two different roles that you play — the one on-camera and the one in public. That's the tricky part."
While Faris mentioned that doing "normal people" things like working in the garage and watching reality television kept them grounded with such busy schedules, a source told People that Faris, "often seemed unhappy while Pratt was away filming and that the separation was often hard for her to bear."
Back in April, Pratt shared a sweet message on Instagram about how grateful he was that Faris and their four-year-old son joined him on his press tour for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.
"These press tours can be such a whirlwind," he wrote in the post. "I'm grateful to have you and the boy with me on this one. Although it's 3:00am right now, I was just awakened by a square kick to the back as little man climbed into bed and then must have had a karate dream or something and now I can't sleep. I'm on insta instead. All you dads and moms know what I'm talking about."
The couple, who have been married for eight years, met in 2007 on the set of Take Me Home Tonight and have one son together who will turn five in August. Pratt once told Esquire in 2014 that he and Faris were "twin souls," since they grew up 20 minutes apart in Washington State and both have scars on their left hands.
