Chrissy Teigen 'Finally' Gets A Sweet Kiss From 16-Month-Old Son Miles
Chrissy Teigen regularly shares photos and videos of her children on Instagram, but her latest video of son Miles is particularly sweet.
“Finally!! Having a squirmy, busy busy baby is tough,” Teigen wrote in the caption. “I have been waiting so long for him to give me kisses! 16 months, worth the wait."
In the video, Miles can be seen sitting in a high chair, leaning over and giving his (clearly thrilled) mom a kiss on the lips.
People couldn’t stop gushing about the adorable video in the comments.
“Moments like this make all of the struggles of motherhood completely disappear. So precious,” one wrote, while another said, “Baby kisses are the bestest!”
Many other commenters also said they’re still waiting for kisses from their own little ones. Every child is different, but typically this milestone happens anywhere from 10 to 15 months, says Gina Posner, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician at MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley, California.
“Some kids are more lovey than others, but typically a 9- or 10-month-old will show some kind of affection,” she says.
But baby affection may not always be in the form of kisses. There are plenty of other ways your little one can show affection, such as paying attention to you, reaching for you, getting excited when he sees you and smiling, says Charles Shubin, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician with Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore.
“All of this can start as early as a couple of weeks of age,” Dr. Shubin says. Babies also tend to respond to positive reinforcement, Dr. Shubin says, so if you show that you’re thrilled when you get a gummy grin, your baby will be more likely to do it again.
If your child hasn’t shown you the kind of affection you’re craving, don’t panic — it doesn’t mean he doesn't love you.
