Everyone Is Freaking Out About This Star Allegedly Giving Her Boyfriend An Allowance
Modern Family star Ariel Winter is never one to back down from criticism, and she usually just brushes off the rumors. But a new one involving her boyfriend has got her seriously P.O.ed—and she’s fighting back.
Here’s the background: Star magazine has a new story out that claims, per Gossip Cop, that the actress is the “breadwinner” in her relationship with fellow actor Levi Meaden and that she pays him to “take care of her.” Apparently, an anonymous source says that Levi earns money by cooking, cleaning, and doing other chores around the house for Ariel. “Some of Ariel’s friends worry that she’s throwing too much cash his way,” the source says. “Why would he go on auditions when he can stay home and still collect a paycheck?”
See how men and women really feel about farting in relatiosnhips:
As you might guess, that seemed to hit a nerve with Ariel. Ariel fired back in an Instagram post that made it clear she’s not okay with this rumor. (Dance your way fit with High-Intensity Dance Cardio, the first-ever socanomics DVD!)

"Star magazine is obviously a non-reputable source and a trash magazine, but seriously how dare you make up stuff that you have no idea about," she wrote. Ariel points out that she has both a boyfriend and a personal assistant—and they’re not the same person. "I would NEVER pay my boyfriend any sort of allowance nor would he EVER accept it if I offered," she wrote, pointing out that Levi buys his own things and “more than pulls his weight” for the two of them.

She ended with this: “I don’t support anyone and I don’t need anyone to support me. He’s got a full career (including something huge that’s new) and works hard for it. He’s not just someone’s boyfriend.”
On Twitter, she posted, "lol-ing at you Star Magazine."
In case you're not familiar with the couple, Levi and Ariel live together, and he regularly shows up on her Instagram. And according to IMDB, he’s had plenty of work: He was in the Syfy series Aftermath and is in the upcoming movie Pacific Rim: Uprising, alongside rising star Scott Eastwood.
Sure, it’s unlikely that he’s raking in as much as Ariel, who stars on a hit sitcom and voices the popular cartoon character Princess Sofia in Sofia the First. But Ariel raises a really good point: Contributing to a relationship is more than financial. And really, it doesn’t matter who makes more as long as you’re happy together.
