Man'S Brilliant Maths Trick Means You'Ll Never Struggle With Percentages Again
Not everyone has an aptitude for maths .
It's all too easy to forget even some of the basics once you've left school. Then there's the fact pretty much everyone has a calculator on their phone.
All of which means that working out things such as percentages can get the better of us as adults.
Thanks to a brilliant trick from copywriter Ben Stephens, however, this could all be about to change.
The key is flipping the numbers around.
Here's Ben's handy explanation :
So 16% of 25 is the same as 25% of 16, and this trick works with any two numbers.
With this example, 25% of 16 (4) is a lot easier to work out off the top of your head than 16% of 25.
Given the huge and enthusiastic response to Ben's tweet, it's fair to say this advice has seriously tapped into something .
Even people who use maths every day or professed to being good at it said how useful this tip was.
Which is actually really comforting.
