Keep Skin Out Of The Heat (As Much As Possible)
Did you know that heat from summer sun triggers inflammation, which then sets off a response to increase melanin activity resulting in hyperpigmentation (brown sunspots)? It may come as a surprise that sunspots are not only caused directly from the sun’s rays, but from the heat your skin feels, too.
Use cooling products or a gel mask after sun exposure to bring down the temperature of the skin and try to stay inside during the peak heat hours if pigmentation is a concern. Avoid using very hot water in the shower or when washing your face, as it could potentially cause the same flare-up.
