Jessica Biel Opens Up About Teaching Her Toddler About Sex
How early is too early to learn about the reproductive system?
If you’re Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, the answer is never. The star of the The Sinner recently sat down with WomanCare Global (WCG) for a series of videos that try to put a humorous spin on sexual health.
The 35-year-old also talked about what life’s been like as a new mom (“There’s so much pressure outside, and there’s kind of like this mom competition of how fast you can be skinny”) and how she’s changing the sex conversation when it comes to her two-year-old son, Silas.
Here’s a very good reason why you should have sex before bed tonight.
Jessica Biel shared that her and Timberlake are already talking to Silas about the reproductive system, saying “I still go back to this idea that it doesn’t have to be so serious.” They’re teaching him about his body, without the common slang terms that kids often get so used to: “We’re starting now. We’re using technical terms. We just talk about it. I know he’s really young, but I really believe that if you start it this early that there’s no shame.”
According to a recent survey, women want sex to last exactly this long.
The way Biel and Timberlake are raising their son stems from a gap in knowledge that Biel felt she had as a young woman. Biel says that even in her early 30s, she had questions about how the female body worked. She explained that “when I was thinking about starting a family, obviously I know how to do it, but I didn’t quite know how to do it.”
In order to educate other women, Biel founded The Tryst Network with Sandra Pelletier, a “judgement-free, shame-free community” where women and their partners can find “answers to their most pressing questions about sex, bodies and relationships.”
Looks like Biel and Timberlake really are bringing sexy back.
